Jennifer Cornwell opened her own private practice where she can utilize her years of experience in counseling. She has been working with children, adolescents, and their families for the last decade and more. Prior to that she worked in various capacities of drug treatment from Intensive outpatient, outpatient to various aftercare programs. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist she is very comfortable with a wide range of demographics and topics. As a local girl from the country, she finds the same spirit of exploring the outdoors to that of counseling, sometimes life can be an adventure and we may just need a trained ear to help us figure out where life is taking us!
Mary Ann's career started off in the world of Finance before discovering a better long-term fit in the counseling field. She has worked in the Hawaii State Hospital as well as Windward Oahu Treatment Services before opening her private practice specializing in adults, couples, and families.
Brie is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with more than 20 years working in the mental health field. Her office is located in Kaka’ako where she works with children, teens and adults experiencing a variety of issues such as Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma. She has extensive experience in Autism, ADHD, behavioral issues and parenting concerns. Brie uses a person-centered approach in order to create a safe and comfortable environment for her clients.
Life can get messy and therapy can help. Bridget considers it an honor to be part of the messy parts of life working with adolescents and adults, both individually and within families and relationships. She graduated with a Master’s degree in 2017 from Antioch University Seattle in Marriage and Family Therapy. While in Seattle, Bridget completed an internship at a community agency for youth and adolescents. Since finishing school and moving to Hawaii, she has been working within a community agency setting focused on parenting struggles, particularly parents with children from the ages of 0-5 years old. Parenting can add an additional intersection in life with topics and struggles such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, life adjustments, and grief/loss to name a few. Dr. Jina Uyeda is a holistic, systems-based Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). In addition to her clinical work, she leads workshops and trainings on topics such as burnout prevention, relationship repair, and professional development for the community and professionals. Her passion is fostering community connection and education to empower individuals and families in achieving well-being.
She provides therapy for families, couples, individuals, and children, and she specializes in working with trauma, depression, dual diagnosis, substance use disorders, autism, and anxiety. Jina is fluent in Korean and offers substance abuse assessments and early intervention education. Her approach incorporates play therapy, EMDR, Gottman methods, and mindfulness-based therapy.
Marisa Kamada is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist born and raised in Honolulu. Went to school in Eugene, Oregon at Northwest Christian University, now known as Bushnell University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She later attended Argosy University, in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She obtained her licensure with the State of Hawaii in 2015.
Through her experience over the past 10 years she has found that she has a passion with working with individuals who are noticing a willingness to be open to how therapy could help them address what they are wanting to change. She has also found that she enjoys working with couples who are seeking growth within themselves and their relationships.

Raul assists individuals and couples in better understanding the struggles they have been facing through improving their awareness of cognitive and behavioral patterns that may have become maladaptive. He has practiced for the past eleven years with an emphasis on trauma stemming from neglect and abuse. Dana Miller is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with 15 years of experience. She is based in Honolulu and offers in-person and tele-therapy services for teens, adults and couples. Her style is non-judgmental, inclusive, direct, supportive and strength-based. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, addiction, domestic abuse, relational issues and trauma. She uses a variety of different modalities and techniques tailored to your specific needs. Cheryl is one of the Founders of this EAP. She received both her BA and MSW degrees from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. She has been a Hawai'i resident since 1971 and in 1976 began her work in the helping professions as a Therapeutic Foster Parent. Since 1989 she has counseled individuals and families impacted by substance abuse and mental health issues. Her work in the employee assistance field began with Straub EAP in 2001 before starting Employee Assistance of the Pacific. In addition to her role here as a Founder, Cheryl is actively involved in counseling adults, children and adolescents in her private counseling practice in Kailua, as well as conducting debriefings and training.
Tui is an experienced clinician serving Hawaii with a strong background in Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, behavioral health, and family systems work. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Tui has provided direct EAP services including assessment, short-term counseling, crisis support, supervisory consultation, and employee training.
In addition to private practice, Tui has served as a Multisystemic Therapy (MST) therapist, college lecturer, and practicum coordinator, supporting individuals, families, and organizations across the community. Brandon is an Oahu-grown provider servicing the Leeward side of Oahu. He is a veteran who returned home from the U.S. Army and received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology, followed by his Master's, and then his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In addition to his schooling, Brandon has more than 10 years of clinical experience and training, working with individuals and groups of all ages - from preschool to geriatrics. He has a background in substance abuse treatment, risk assessment, trauma work, mood and anxiety issues and personality disorders. In addition, he has experience in health psychology working with individuals who experience migraines, are quitting smoking and even suffering from tinnitus. He utilizes an integrative and collaborative approach to psychotherapy to adress the concerns of individuals, couples and families.
Emily is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with an office in Kaimuki. She is passionate about helping others in whatever way she can. She has many years of experience working with people from different backgrounds and experiences. Mike is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Certified Diplomate of Clinical Social Work with an office in Honolulu. He works with adolescents and adults and specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and other conditions. Mike does counseling with families and couples.
Kari Kumpis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly 20 years of experience working in the mental health field. She started with adult mental health as a group home manager and case manager, then transitioned to helping students and families as a behavioral health specialist with the Department of Education School Based Behavioral Health. She received her Master’s in Science of Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University. Now in private practice, she helps children ranging in age from 6-years old to adults that are 60-years old. She also enjoys working with couples. Having been born and raised in Hawaii and going through the public school system sparked a desire for her to help others.
Cheri's social work practice started in child welfare and as a custody evaluator for the courts. Working with families in crisis led her to include approaches to conflict, such as mediation and restorative justice from a strengths-based, solution-focused perspective. Her ultimate goal is to help people heal by supporting individuals, couples and families to attain their goals, whether it's to sleep better, work on a relationship, or figure out how to get out of crisis-mode. Cheri has a BA from UCLA and an MSW from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Shannon Hayes has a doctorate in clinical psychology and a masters in Juvenile Forensics Psychology and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Hawaii. Early in her career she was afforded the opportunity to provide mental health services for juveniles in detention centers servicing the general population and juvenile sex offenders by conducting psychological evaluations and providing individual psychological therapy. The foundation for her experience in working with families commenced in 2001 when she began working with the foster care system. In working with foster care, Dr. Hayes was able to provide individual and multi-family systems therapy for foster children, their biological parents, and the foster parents. During this time, Dr. Hayes started providing group and individual therapy for victims of domestic violence. As her education and career progressed, Dr. Hayes has gained over 17 years of experience in working with various cultures, children/adolescents, child maltreatment, couples, families, substance abuse, sexual abuse, adult inmates, neuropsychology, military, homelessness, domestic violence, clinical trainings, and lectures. Lee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has a part-time office in Waipio. Lee has extensive knowledge of childhood, intra-familial sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect. She has over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families going through difficult transitions in their lives and trying to overcome challenging experiences from the past. Lee also has training in Child Parent Psychotherapy, an intervention technique used with parents/caregivers and their child, ages 0-6 who has experienced a traumatic event.

Makela M. Bruno-Kidani is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist on the Big Island servicing the Waimea, Waikoloa, Kohala, and Hamakua areas since 2010. She is also the founder of Project Reach Out and alohalegion.org, educating communities on teenage suicide prevention and antibullying. "George" was born and raised in Germany and moved to Hawaii in 1967. He attended UH Manoa for an MA degree, as well as Chaminade University for a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. He was a high school physical education and health instructor, school counselor and sports coach for 36 years. His personal training and coaching in competitive sports led him to sports psychology studies. George has worked in the field of domestic violence intervention, anger expression, communication skills and parenting skills over the past 16 years. In addition to his work as an EAP provider, he volunteers at Hospice of Kona, supporting a parent bereavement group. He has offices in Hilo and Kona.
John is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and a DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). His office is in Kealakekua.
Vanessa has been a licensed counselor for over a decade, with a certification in sex therapy. She has a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and approaches counseling from a systems perspective. She enjoys helping people deal with a myriad of issues, and holds a particular interest in helping others heal from trauma wounds. Her office is in Kailua-Kona.

Maile has over 20 years of therapy experience helping foster children, victims of crime, court involved youth, and community members of all ages manage trauma, depression, and anxiety. She is certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy and hypnotherapy, trained in Eye Movement Desensitivation and Reprocessing (EMDR( and its help in healing PTSD and trauma. Nancy's office is in Kealakekua. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in emergency and trauma response that most currently includes serving as the Disaster Mental Lead for Hawaii's Chapter of the American Red Cross and assisting with the volcano response. Her background includes working with adults, families, and children through her EAP and private practice work, as well as management positions in scientific research and chairing the West Hawaii Suicide Prevention Task Force.
Barry has a master’s degree of science from Georgia State University in Professional Counseling, awarded in 2004, as well as a master’s degree of science from Capella University, awarded in 2011. He is a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. Additionally, he is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Hawaii, as well as Washington State and Rhode Island; and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona, Michigan, Texas and Oregon. He is also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in New Mexico. His work experience as a professional counselor includes serving as an adjunct faculty member teaching both counseling and psychology. Alison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with Employee Assistance of the Pacific. She has over twenty years of post-master's clinical experience working with clients of all ages in private non-profit settings, healthcare, and private psychotherapy. She offers online counseling to people experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, family crisis, sexual issues and a variety of other challenges of life. She employs a collaborative approach, values the counseling relationship as a place of honesty and acceptance, and works with individuals to tap their own insights to find solutions. Short term counseling is a great place for cutting through the noise and getting straight to the heart of the issues. Alison was born and raised in NJ, lived in Boston for many years, and moved to Hawaii in 2015 and has no plans to leave.
Ellen has worked as a substance abuse counseling professional for over 23 years and is certified at the state, national and international levels. She has specialized in all aspects of substance abuse, domestic violence and anger management treatment. She has been an independent Substance Abuse Professional contracting with Employee Assistance of the Pacific since 2006. Her work involved assessing EAP clients and assisting them in participating in and successfully completing all requirements of treatment and case management goals.
Aloha. I am a licensed mental health counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience. I am originally from Japan and got trained in the US. I have been working on Maui most of my career with children/teens, adults and couples in nonprofit organizations, schools, and private practice. With my experience of exposure to different cultures growing up, and getting higher education in the US, my work has become an integration of Western and Eastern teachings. I am a humanistic therapist and provide a gentle and non-judgmental approach. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and utilize other modalities such as mindfulness, emotional focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy to meet individual needs of each client. I mostly work with people with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I believe counseling is about getting to know your inner world, and it is an educational process. Kristin "Kit" Gillette obtained her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Ohio State University and her Masters in Human Relations from the University of Miami. After living and working in the eastern United States for 50 plus years, she moved to Maui in 1990. Besides counseling, mediation is her passion.
Barry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with the State of Hawaii. He has been active in the field of recovery for over 28 years and has worked therapeutically as a substance abuse counselor since 2009. He enjoys working with individuals, couples and families. Barry practices his philosophy of therapy using an experiential approach; working in the here and now, and viewing the felt experience as the path to healing. As a marriage and family therapist he has a systemic view of his patients and how their suffering is influenced by their entire family structure – past and present. Barry’s work can be summarized in his belief around therapy: “The purpose of therapy is to provide a loving, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to allow for the full exploration of all aspects of one’s Self. With the goal of helping that person come to better accept their humanity, and within that acceptance, open pathways for healing and growth.” His office is in Lahaina.
Anthea is a multicultural and bilingual therapist, experienced in facilitating individuals, couples, and family sessions. She is skilled in assisting individuals and groups to move into depth and process, using a variety of techniques including family systems, EMDR, mindfulness, psychodynamics, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her office is in Paia.
Holly is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and received her Masters Degree in Counseling at Sonoma State University and her professional license in Hawaii. She has worked in the counseling field for over 25 years including work in family therapy clinics, school programs, adult mental health services and adoption/foster care agencies. Areas of specialty include: relationship issues, parenting, child and adolescent therapy, anger management, trauma work including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and career development.
Kuuleimomi was born and raised on Oahu and moved to the Maui in 1993. Her work experience has been primarily in the medical professional (Surgical, Orthopedic, Gastrointestinal Technician), for over 18 years, during which time she became a Licensed Massage Therapist as well. She changed careers, deciding that she still wanted to help people but at a different capacity. In 2014 she decided to pursue her passion to help people who deal with emotional and substance abuse challenges. She is currently a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor providing services as a school-based substance abuse counselor, and teaches an 8 hour substance abuse education class for adolescents monthly.

Robin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Hawaii and has been a National Certified Counselor since 1999. Robin has over 20 years post graduate experience in the field of mental health and substance abuse. Robin has worked with as a trainer and therapist at Child Welfare Services/Social Services but credits her work at a Community Mental Clinic as giving her the broadest base of clinical knowledge in the mental health field. Robin has extensive work with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders as she has worked at the Hawaii State Judiciary as a case manager at Maui Drug Court and several treatment facilities on the island of Maui. Robin feels her strengths come from her own travel which instilled an appreciation for all cultures and compassion for one's unique life experiences and values. She credits her connection with the water and the community as a source of strength and purpose. She limits her practice to adult individuals who may be experiencing mental health and/or chemical dependency issues as well as life transitions as well as relationship concerns.
Robyn works with couples and individuals to help them navigate the difficult times in life. From a compassionate and non-judgmental stance, she helps find practical solutions to life’s challenges. Robyn is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Upcountry, Maui and has done additional training in insight-oriented therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Discernment Counseling, a method for working with couples on the brink of divorce. Robyn specializes in relationship issues in the broadest sense, including relationships with our spouses, friends, co-workers, family and most importantly, with ourselves.
Laura has been in the substance use and mental health counseling field for almost 5 years, after a career change from teaching. She enjoys using art therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) with her clients, especially those dealing with trauma. Her goal is to provide a safe place to share without fear or judgement. Clients take an active role in finding solutions to the challenges they face. Laura's counseling practice is in Kihei, and she is a LIcensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor.

KAUAI

Bev is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is certified in substance abuse counseling as well. She has lived in Hawaii for 27 years where she has a private practice, doing EAP work and contract work for various agencies. Her areas of specialization are marital and couples counseling, domestic violence and anger management, working with teens and families, and EAP brief counseling.
Todd's office is in Kalaheo.
Lindsay has a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and has expertise in depression, anxiety, substance abuse, family functioning, grief, and anger management. She works with children, adults, couples, and families—often with individuals who are experiencing high levels of stress and difficulty balancing the demands of everyday life. Lindsay is easygoing and nonjudgmental in her work with clients, while also enthusiastic about helping clients build their strengths and develop new skills to improve their happiness and functioning.
Lynn's office is in Kapaa. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Sheryl is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a solid history of helping Kauai residents, including working in counseling capacities for the YWCA and Kamehameha Schools. Her office is in Lihue.
Fran is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Certified Anger Management Specialist-II, and Registered as a Play Therapist. She has a private practice in Koloa where she works with individuals, couples, children and families, including government agency, court, and EAP referrals.

Shari is also the Executive Director and clinical supervisor at Ka Hale Pomaika'i, serving Molokai and Lanai, and has extensive training as a psychotherapist in the areas of sexual abuse/assault/offense, family dynamics, reactive attachment disorder, and addictions. She is the local responder for suicide crisis intervention on Moloka'i, and a mother and grandmother of four mo'opuna. She enjoys her family, Welsh Corgi, farm, and the ocean.
